Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Lord Mayor Opens Ulster-Scots Arts Bursary Applications
Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council has opened applications for the Lord Mayor’s Ulster-Scots Arts Bursary.
Alderman Stephen Moutray, Lord Mayor of Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon, announced the scheme. It provides financial support to residents promoting Ulster-Scots cultural expression in the borough.
Local constituted organisations, primary and post-primary schools, and not-for-profit community or voluntary groups can apply. The scheme awards four bursaries of £250 each.
Funds support activities and learning in Ulster-Scots dance, drama, music and speech. The goal is to increase understanding of these traditions and encourage participation.
Alderman Moutray stated the bursary aims to foster engagement with Ulster-Scots heritage. He invited applications from eligible groups working in these cultural areas to sustain the traditions.
The office of the Lord Mayor funds the scheme. Applications close on Friday 15 May at 5pm.
