Two Armagh Groups Receive Ulster-Scots Bursary Funding
Lord Mayor Alderman Stephen Moutray presented £250 awards from the Lord Mayor’s Ulster-Scots Arts Bursary on 28 May.
The recipients are Moyrourkan True Blues Flute Band, Mid Armagh Community Network, Saints and Scholars Integrated Primary School, and Pride of the Hill Flute Band.
The funding supports programmes that promote Ulster-Scots heritage, culture and community engagement across the Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council area.
Moutray said the bursary will help develop events and initiatives that celebrate local traditions and strengthen community connections.
A separate civic reception was held at the Palace in Armagh to mark the Jaipur Literature Festival’s two-day programme in the city on 26 and 27 May.
The festival, which opened in Belfast the previous week, featured music, conversation sessions and workshops drawing on Indian and local traditions.
