CAFRE Invites Visitors to Explore Courses at Balmoral Show
The College of Agriculture, Food and Rural Enterprise (CAFRE) maintains exhibitions at Balmoral Show. The event takes place from Wednesday 13 May to Saturday 16 May, starting at 9:30am each day. CAFRE staff occupy area EK1 in the Eikon Centre and the Horticulture Hub Pavilion.
Prospective students can meet CAFRE team members at the stands. Staff discuss courses in agriculture, equine studies, floristry, food, horticulture, land-based engineering, and veterinary nursing. The programs span Level 2 to master's degree level.
Valerie Finaly, Head of Learner Services, stated that Balmoral Show offers a chance for those unable to attend campus open days to explore options for September. She noted the range of pathways available and encouraged visits to the Schools’ Engagement Team led by Liz Simpson.
Courses emphasize practical training, industry connections, and progression to careers or further study in agri-food and land-based sectors. Staff address queries on entry requirements, campus life, student support, accommodation, and industry links.
CAFRE serves students leaving school with GCSEs or A-levels, as well as those considering career changes. The stands provide direct conversations about suitable courses.
