Scottish Driver Fined £250 for 106mph Speeding on Derry Road
Victoria Eliza Burrell, 26, from Lennox Drive in Clydebank, Scotland, admitted speeding in Derry court. The incident occurred on December 28 at about 10am when police detected her vehicle travelling at 106mph in a 70mph zone.
Her defence solicitor, Seamus Quigley, told the court that Burrell recognised the danger of her speed. He noted she had learned of her uncle's serious illness and failed to monitor her speed amid the distress.
Derry Magistrates' Court imposed a fine of £250 on Burrell and added three penalty points to her licence.
