East Belfast Evacuations After Suspicious Device Found
Police attended a security alert in the Victor Place area of east Belfast after a suspicious device was found. A number of homes were evacuated at the junction of Woodstock Place and Swift Place or Street.
Army Technical Officers went to the location. Cordons were established around the area.
The Police Service of Northern Ireland requested that people avoid the zone.
Dee Street Community Centre opened to assist those displaced from their homes. Foot access to Belle Bashford Court remained available.
DUP Councillor Ruth Brooks visited the site. She indicated the response would take a couple of hours.
