Jack Philp has joined DU Dance (NI) as Artistic Director. The choreographer previously led his own company, Jack Philp Dance, and worked with National Dance Company Wales. DU Dance (NI) operates as Northern Ireland's only dedicated dance development company.

The Arts Council of Northern Ireland funds the company. DU Dance (NI) runs programmes for inter-generational, cross-community and inter-cultural work. It trains participants, shares skills and builds audiences through performance-based projects.

Philp's role involves developing the company with its team. His focus includes enabling artists and communities and strengthening the Northern Ireland dance sector. At National Dance Company Wales, he contributed to an engagement strategy that increased youth participation threefold.

Philp has curated participation projects and mentored artists. His experience spans residencies with Dance Ireland, Dance Cork Firkin Crane and Galway Dance. He has also worked with Ireland's National Dance Company, Luail.

Upcoming DU Dance (NI) events include Primary School Dance Festivals in Belfast on 20th and 21st May and in Derry on 4th June. New projects and collaborations are in development.
