East Londonderry Independent MLA Claire Sugden reported receiving contacts over recent months about ongoing anti-social behaviour in the Coleraine area. Residents described late night parties, suspected drug use and violence.

Sugden noted that such incidents occur repeatedly and affect people's sense of safety in their homes. She highlighted the complex nature of many cases, where individuals involved face mental health challenges or addiction.

Affected residents endure disruptions over long periods with limited resolution, according to Sugden. People express frustration over delays despite reports to the PSNI or Housing Executive.

Sugden questioned whether powers to tackle anti-social behaviour are applied effectively and promptly. She stressed the need to balance support for those in need with protection for other residents from ongoing disturbances.

Residents deserve to feel safe at home and assured that raised issues receive serious attention, Sugden stated.
