Dungannon 1st XV from Tyrone faces Shannon RFC in the promotion play-off semi-final for Division 1B. The match takes place in Limerick this Saturday.

The teams split their earlier meetings this season. Dungannon won 22-14 at home on 25 October. Shannon prevailed when Dungannon visited Thomond Park a few weeks ago.

Dungannon secured a third-place league finish with a home victory over Greystones two weeks ago. That result qualified them for the play-offs.

Last year Dungannon gained promotion to Division 2A. They achieved this with a narrow home win against Clogher Valley followed by a road victory over Navan RFC in the final.
