Steven Walsh, 42, from Ballydermot Road in the Bellaghy area, appeared at Ballymena Magistrates Court via video link from prison.

He faces eleven charges related to incidents between July of last year and March of this year. The charges include five counts of assaulting a woman, one count of non-fatal strangulation and two counts of falsely imprisoning her.

Walsh also faces charges of behaving in a threatening or abusive manner and taking a vehicle without the owner's consent. Those two charges relate to events on March 1 and March 15.

He faces an additional charge of domestic abuse over the same period.

The court adjourned the case to May 7.
