An event in Altnaveigh celebrated 80 years with a night of variety performances. Organisers directed all proceeds to Cancer Research UK, Macmillan Nurses and Marie Curie. The theme focused on cancer as a common enemy.

Funds honoured Gail Hanna, a Marie Curie nurse, Sheila McConville, a Macmillan nurse, and Beth McCullough, a member of the Altnaveigh Band. Total collections reached about £10,000, with more expected.

Gail Graham and David Scott served as hosts. Performers included David Muldrew, William Dundon and Aidan Lenon of the Upduckyband, along with Brendan and Cecilie Monaghan.

The Clann Irish Dance Group presented dance routines.
