The Department for Infrastructure (DfI) received reports of 2,658 blocked gullies in Derry and Strabane from 2021 to the present. This total includes 2,615 cases between 2021 and 2025 plus 43 reports so far this year.

Surface ponding on local roads accounted for 1,057 incidents over the same period. DfI noted 1,037 such instances from 2021 to 2025 with 20 additional reports this year.

These figures reflect notifications to the local DfI section office. Blocked gullies contribute to water accumulation on roadways in the Derry and Strabane council area.
