Courts: Boxer granted bail on rape charges as Lurgan woman refused bail over stabbing
BALLYMENA: A 28-year-old amateur boxer, Jacob Frank Bradshaw, appeared in Ballymena Magistrates Court charged with eight offences including the rape and non-fatal strangulation of two women in separate incidents alleged to have occurred in summer 2025 and January 2026. He was granted bail with conditions including a curfew, a ban on contacting complainants or witnesses, and a requirement to report to police three times a week, with the case adjourned to 21 May.
CRAIGAVON: A 26-year-old Lurgan woman, Karla Hanratty, appeared at Craigavon Magistrates Court charged with the attempted murder of her partner, who sustained three stab wounds including one that punctured a lung, following an argument on 21 February. Her bail application was refused by Deputy District Judge Trevor Browne, who cited the seriousness of the case and concerns about potential interference with witnesses, with the case adjourned to 8 May.
