A 33-year-old man has admitted to assaulting another man at a hospital in Ballymena.

Keith Balmer, formerly of Wakehurst Court in the town but now of no fixed abode, committed the offence on May 31 this year.

Balmer appeared before Ballymena Magistrates' Court where he entered a guilty plea.

The court heard that he is currently engaging with addiction services.

The offence placed him in breach of a suspended sentence imposed on a previous occasion.

The case was adjourned until mid-August to allow for the preparation of a pre-sentence report.
