Several republican groups in Derry plan commemorations for the 110th anniversary of the 1916 Easter Rising. Events occur over Easter weekend at local monuments and Derry City Cemetery.

Sinn Féin organises its main event on Easter Sunday. The assembly starts at Westland Street at 2pm. The procession moves via Elmwood Terrace, Eastway and Iniscarn to the City Cemetery. Belfast republican Séanna Walsh delivers the main address at the Republican Monument.

Sinn Féin Councillor Christopher Jackson called on local republicans to attend the main and local events. He urged participants to wear the Easter Lily during the Easter period.

Local Sinn Féin ceremonies take place on Easter Sunday at 1pm at Shantallow Monument on Racecourse Road and Waterside on Rose Court. Further events occur at 1.30pm at Creggan on Central Drive and Bogside Brandywell on Lecky Road.

The Irish Republican Socialist Party holds a wreath-laying at the Irish Republican Socialist plot in Derry City Cemetery at 2pm on Easter Saturday.

The Keenan/Toner Cumann of Republican Sinn Féin schedules its annual commemoration at the Republican Monument in Derry City Cemetery at noon on Easter Sunday.

Saoradh and the National Republican Commemoration Committee set their main 2026 national event for Easter Monday in Derry. The parade leaves Creggan Shops at 2.30pm for Derry City Cemetery.
