Sinn Féin TD Matt Carthy from Cavan-Monaghan will deliver the keynote speech at the Easter Sunday commemoration in Carrickmore, County Tyrone.

The annual parade assembles on Main Street at 3.30pm and proceeds to the Garden of Remembrance. The event marks the 110th anniversary of the 1916 Easter Rising.

Commemorations will occur across Tyrone, including over 40 local ceremonies over the Easter weekend.

Sinn Féin West Tyrone MP Órfhlaith Begley spoke at the Easter Lily launch in Carrickmore. She noted that 2026 marks 100 years since Cumann na mBan introduced the Easter Lily.

Begley described the Easter Lily as a symbol of sacrifice and resilience. She stated it stands for the ongoing effort toward a united Ireland.

She called on republicans to attend local events and the main Carrickmore commemoration. Begley urged attendees to wear the Easter Lily to honour those who died for Irish freedom.

Begley said Easter provides an opportunity to reflect on independence goals and extend solidarity to families of the patriot dead.
