International tour operators visited tourist sites in Fermanagh as part of a fact-finding mission organised by Tourism Ireland and Tourism NI.

The operators took part in a meet the buyer workshop in Belfast. They numbered 145 buyers from 15 markets, including 21 attending for the first time.

In Fermanagh, the group went to the Boatyard Distillery, Finn Lough, Belleek Pottery and Marble Arch Caves. They joined a boat trip run by Erne Tours.

Alice Mansergh, chief executive of Tourism Ireland, stated the event offers local small and medium enterprises chances to link with global partners who direct tourists to Northern Ireland.

She noted Tourism Ireland runs promotional efforts in key overseas markets. Annual visitors from the US to Northern Ireland rose 35 percent since 2023. Visitors from Great Britain, the largest source market, keep growing.

The organisation pursues a strategy to attract more from mainland Europe, invests in markets like Canada and forms partnerships in places like China.

Tourism Ireland promotes Northern Ireland's landscapes, culture and history through advertising, publicity, digital tools, social media, AI and partnerships.
