Pauline Hurst, a P1 and P2 teacher at Enniskillen Model Primary School's Speech and Language Centre, has been appointed vice-president of the Ulster Teachers' Union.

The appointment positions Hurst to become UTU president in spring 2027.

Enniskillen Model Primary School principal Winston Glass issued a statement congratulating Hurst on her new role.

Glass noted Hurst's long service to the UTU and described her commitment to the union as exceptional and highly valued.

The school extended congratulations to Hurst for her appointment.
