Western Trust Launches Free Health Training Brochure for 2026
The Western Health and Social Care Trust's Health Improvement, Equality and Involvement Department has launched its first training brochure for 2026. The brochure lists free courses scheduled from April to September 2026.
Courses cover children and families, emotional health and wellbeing, nutrition, physical activity, sexual health, and personal and public involvement. Emotional health and wellbeing courses follow tiers 1 to 4, aligned with the Public Health Agency's mental health, emotional wellbeing and suicide prevention training framework. Nutrition courses are at levels 1 and 2.
New courses include Exploring the Contents of Thriving Mind, Introduction to Personal and Public Involvement, and Baby Massage. Returning courses are Boccia Leaders Award, Disability Inclusion Training, and Solihull 2 Day Foundation Training.
Delivery occurs face-to-face at locations across the Western Trust area or via Zoom. Registration uses Microsoft forms on each course listing, indicating interest but not guaranteeing a place.
The department partners with statutory, community and voluntary organisations to address health inequalities and improve health and wellbeing for people in the Western Trust area. Contact details are phone 02871 865 127 and email health.improvement@westerntrust.hscni.net. The office is at Maple Villa B, Gransha Park, Clooney Road, Derry/Londonderry, BT47 6WJ.
