Infrastructure Minister Liz Kimmins has confirmed the summer 2026 timetable for the Rathlin Island Ferry Service. The schedule runs from Friday 3 April to Wednesday 30 September.

The updated timetable adds one return crossing each Saturday and Sunday morning. These depart Rathlin at 8:30am and Ballycastle at 9:30am.

The extra weekend services respond to feedback from a consultation between ferry operator Dunaverty Ltd and Rathlin Development Community Association. Respondents noted a need for early weekend sailings to support hospitality industry staff.

Kimmins stated that the new schedule addresses community needs and provides a boost for local tourism during the summer season. She added that the changes result from community input and align with the Foundations vision.
