Stepping Stones NI Chief Officer Paula Jennings Awarded MBE for Disability Services Work
Paula Jennings, chief officer of Stepping Stones NI, received an MBE at Windsor Castle. Prince William presented the honour. The award recognises her services to people with learning difficulties in Northern Ireland.
Jennings has led Stepping Stones NI for 28 years. The organisation provides services for people with disabilities and those facing learning barriers. Her work has supported inclusion of people with disabilities in society.
The Stepping Stones NI board congratulated Jennings. They called her an advocate for Northern Ireland's disability sector.
Jennings described receiving the MBE as a privilege. Prince William asked her about Stepping Stones NI and funding challenges. She attended with her husband and three daughters.
Jennings stated the award represents Stepping Stones NI, the people it supports, staff and board. Colleagues, service users and supporters congratulated her.
