Enniskillen Woman Receives Suspended Sentence for Failing Community Service
Shauna Simpson, 41, from Deerin Road in Enniskillen, received a suspended custodial sentence at Enniskillen Magistrates Court on Wednesday after failing to complete 40 hours of community service.
Simpson had been given the community service order on January 20 last year for taking a vehicle without authority.
She did not engage with probation despite extensions to complete the order.
District Judge Alana McSorley described the original sentence as a gift from the court in remarks to defence counsel Ciaran Roddy.
Roddy stated that Simpson cited lack of time due to caring for her two children.
Judge McSorley imposed a three-month custodial term, suspended for 12 months.
