St Joseph's Boys School in Derry Appoints Gerry Beattie as Vice Principal
Gerry Beattie takes up the role of vice principal at St Joseph's Boys School in Derry this April. He joins the senior management team after 29 years at the Westway school, including 22 years in senior positions.
Principal Ciara Deane welcomed Beattie alongside Fiona Harrigan-Stewart. Deane stated Beattie's knowledge and expertise will help maintain the school as a strong learning environment.
Beattie expressed pride in the appointment and commitment to support staff and students. He thanked the principal and governors for the opportunity.
St Joseph's delivers curriculum for Key Stages 3 to 5. Core subjects cover English, mathematics, science, and religious education. Vocational, arts, and technology options prepare pupils for further study or work, within a Catholic ethos.
Deane noted Beattie's role in advancing these efforts.
