A delegation from the Belfast City Region is showcasing investment opportunities worth more than £5 billion at MIPIM 2026. Representatives from local government, business and development partners are highlighting projects in housing, transport-led regeneration, waterfront developments, tourism and hospitality.

Weavers Cross serves as a key project in the pipeline. The scheme focuses on the area around Belfast Grand Central Station. It includes plans for residential, commercial, office, leisure and public spaces linked to a multi-modal transport hub.

City centre residential development receives particular attention. Marie Doyle, Senior Office Partner at Deloitte in Northern Ireland and Chair of the Belfast City & Region Place Partnership, said the Deloitte Crane Survey indicates Belfast is set for progress in central residential projects. She pointed to demand for sustainable homes in urban settings and rising market confidence. Doyle stated partnerships could create new neighbourhoods, expand housing supply and drive economic growth.

Waterfront sites and tourism prospects form other elements of the presentation. Opportunities cover additional hotel spaces, leisure improvements and mixed-use developments.

John Walsh, Chief Executive of Belfast City Council, said the £5 billion opportunities reflect regional ambition. He listed city centre housing regeneration, Weavers Cross infrastructure and waterfront initiatives. Walsh noted public-private partnerships can hasten project delivery and strengthen competitiveness.
