Armagh Lord Mayor Hosts Paisley Family Event for Centenary of Birth
Alderman Stephen Moutray, Lord Mayor of Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon, will host a public event on Wednesday, April 1 at 8pm in The Archbishop’s Palace, Armagh. The evening marks 100 years since the birth of Dr Ian R K Paisley, who was born in the city.
Paisley family members Ian Paisley Jr, Sharon Huddleson and Rev Kyle Paisley will take part in a discussion hosted by journalist and broadcaster Mark Devenport. They will discuss their father’s faith, political career and family life, along with key events that shaped his life.
Alderman Stephen Moutray invited the public to attend the event. He noted that the anniversary offers a chance to consider Dr Paisley’s influence on political, religious and public life in the area. He described hosting the family in their father’s birthplace as a privilege.
Tickets cost £20. Proceeds will support The Lord Bannside Foundation and Evora Hospice Care.
