Fergus Brewster, 57, from Queen Street in Enniskillen, received a two-year driving ban after pleading guilty to drink driving, driving without insurance and driving without a licence at Enniskillen Magistrates Court.

Police stopped Brewster driving a red Mini on Sligo Road on January 11. Officers detected alcohol on his breath. He failed a roadside breath test.

Custody checks showed no valid licence due to a prior disqualification and no insurance. An evidential breath test recorded 110 micrograms of alcohol in 100ml of breath, exceeding the legal limit by three times.

Defence solicitor Sean McHugh stated Brewster had socialised with friends, drunk at home, then drove a short distance for food.

District Judge Alana McSorley imposed the ban and a £500 fine, citing the elevated alcohol level.
