Three-Year-Old Dog Seeks Adoption After 400 Days at Ballymena Centre
A three-year-old collie cross whippet named Rocket has remained at Dogs Trust Ballymena for more than 400 days awaiting adoption. The centre is located in Ballymena, County Antrim.
Rocket entered the charity's care in 2022 as a one-week-old orphan puppy along with his siblings. Foster carers raised the puppies until they could be rehomed.
Rocket received adoption as a puppy but returned to the centre. Rehoming Manager Sarah Park stated that Rocket is friendly, loves people, enjoys walks, and has a playful personality.
Park noted that most dogs at the centre stay for around 59 days before adoption. She described Rocket as special due to his early hand-rearing.
The centre seeks an adult-only home for Rocket with no other pets and a secure outdoor area. Rocket shows energy and travels well in cars.
Dogs Trust Ballymena opens to the public five days a week without need for appointments. Visitors can view dogs available for adoption.
