Police Target Anti-Social Driving Near Toome with Fixed Penalty Notices
Magherafelt Neighbourhood Policing team issued fixed penalty notices to motorists last weekend after reports of anti-social driving near The Elk in Toome. Officers targeted drivers blocking roads and junctions to carry out diffing and racing.
Additional motorists face reports to the Public Prosecution Service. Police stated that such actions constitute offences and prioritise action against anti-social driving in the area.
Officers urged the public to report witnessed anti-social driving and assist in identifying drivers. They noted 15 road deaths in Northern Ireland this year compared to eight in the same period last year.
