Joyce Campbell, 64, from Clon Dara in Derry, received a conditional discharge for two years after making 114 calls to emergency and non-emergency police numbers. The calls took place between January and December 2024.

Campbell was highly intoxicated during the calls. Police questioned her, and she stated she could not remember making them.

Her defence solicitor, Kevin Casey, noted that she now maintains sobriety. He said she feels deeply embarrassed by her actions, has pleaded guilty, and that no emergency services were dispatched due to the calls.

Deputy District Judge Philip Mateer pointed out that her most recent prior offence dated to June 2015. He stated she is presently managing her issues and issued the conditional discharge.
