PSNI Vehicles Collide with Audi in West Belfast Stop
A collision involving two police vehicles and a white Audi took place on Old Golf Course Road in Dunmurry, west Belfast, on Tuesday evening after 8:30pm. The incident occurred as police tried to stop the Audi.
Occupants of the Audi, which included a young child in a car seat, were told to leave the vehicle and wait at the roadside. Plainclothes officers wearing jeans, coats and balaclavas arrived with rifles and secured the car.
Police searched the Audi but found no issues. The driver tested negative on a breathalyser.
Recovery vehicles removed the two police cars and the damaged Audi after more than an hour. The Audi's occupants walked home.
Officers took rifles, pistols, tasers and ballistic gear from their vehicles before departure. The road was cleared once all cars were towed.
A PSNI spokesperson stated two police vehicles joined a three-vehicle crash while stopping the Audi. All involved received minor injuries, with no serious ones reported. Vehicles were recovered from the scene.
