Police in Derry are investigating whether a collision between two stolen vehicles is linked to a series of thefts from cars in the same area.

The crash occurred on Aileach Road around 4am on Saturday, July 18. Both vehicles, a black Audi and a green Mustang, had been taken from outside homes in the Thornhill Park area.

Soon afterwards, reports emerged that several vehicles in the Foxhill and Oldbridge districts had been broken into. Cash, a wallet, and medication were reported missing.

The PSNI are treating the incidents as potentially connected and have asked anyone with information or doorbell or dashcam footage to come forward. They can call 101, quoting reference 210 18/07/26.
