Armagh Council Seeks Public Views on Gaol Site Redevelopment
Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council has begun a community engagement process for the Armagh Gaol Transformation Project. The council calls on residents, community groups and businesses to attend sessions.
The gaol has stood vacant since 1986. The council took ownership in 1997. The site ranks as a priority in the Armagh Place Plan for use as a multifunctional space. The Mid South West Growth Deal supplies funding for a mixed-use development. This deal joins councils and government partners for regional economic growth.
An open public event occurs on Saturday 14 March from 10am to 3pm. Booking takes place on the council website at www.armaghbanbridgecraigavon.gov.uk/armaghgaol.
Sessions cover site uses that advance economic and environmental aims. Input will shape the business case in development. Carlin Planning runs the events for the council. Parties may email info@carlinplanning.com to participate.
