Three Arrested in Police Probe into Suspected Fraud at Local Council
Police in Northern Ireland arrested three people on Wednesday in connection with suspected fraud at a local council. The investigation began after a report received in May 2024.
A 39-year-old man faces suspicion of several fraud offences, bribery, misconduct in public office, money laundering and forgery. Officers detained him in the Ballymoney area.
In the Waterside area of Derry and Londonderry, police arrested a 59-year-old man on suspicion of fraud by false representation, bribery and money laundering.
A 39-year-old woman also faces arrest in Ballymoney on suspicion of converting criminal property.
Searches continue at several properties linked to the case. All three suspects remain in custody.
