Santander Enniskillen Branch Scheduled for Closure in 2026
Santander UK plans to close its branch in Enniskillen on May 11, 2026. The decision follows a review of branch usage and local banking options.
Data from January to June 2025 shows 47 personal customers and one business customer transacted at the branch three or more times while using no other methods. Santander UK states 93 percent of branch users already bank through multiple channels.
Fermanagh and Omagh District Council contacted the bank over impacts on residents, community groups, and sports clubs needing in-person services. Council members noted Omagh as the next nearest branch, about 56 miles round trip from Enniskillen, with rural areas farther away.
Samir Dwesar, Santander UK's Senior Public Affairs and Public Policy Manager, addressed the council's letter. The bank cited factors like branch location, local alternatives, and customer preferences in its review process.
To support customers, Santander UK offers online, telephone, ATM, and remaining branch services. It plans a Santander Local outpost in Enniskillen with a Community Banker available one day weekly. Sites under review include Fermanagh House, suggested by two local MLAs.
Over 11,000 Post Office branches remain accessible, including one within a mile of the Enniskillen site. Santander UK works with Cash Access UK and LINK on cash access solutions.
