Police Service of Northern Ireland officers arrested several individuals wanted on court warrants during a targeted operation in the Cookstown area of Mid Ulster on Sunday.

The action focused on people who failed to appear in court. Officers visited addresses in the early morning to detain the suspects.

A PSNI spokesperson confirmed the arrests and said community safety is the main focus, along with making sure court orders are enforced in Mid Ulster.

The spokesperson added that those with outstanding bench warrants or unpaid fines should contact police soon to resolve issues and avoid arrest.

Police asked the public to help locate other wanted persons by calling 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
