The Northern Ireland Statistics and Research Agency (NISRA) has published Labour Force Survey data indicating that an estimated 20,000 young people aged 16 to 24 were not in education, employment or training (NEET) in Northern Ireland during October to December 2025.

This figure represents 9.7% of all individuals in that age group in Northern Ireland for the same period.

The NEET rate stood at 10.4% for males and 9.0% for females.

The statistics were released on 26 February 2026, with detailed NEET tables available on the quarterly Labour Force Survey tables page.
