The Education Authority is continuing to introduce a new school management system across Northern Ireland schools, with the primary school rollout expected to finish by the end of November 2026. The system, known as Bromcom, is being implemented in all education sectors, with full completion planned for March 2027.

Post-primary schools, special schools, and post-primary EOTAS settings are currently preparing to move to the new system. The Education Authority says Bromcom will improve data management and communication between schools, parents, and support services, and will enable collaborative working across multiple schools.

Feedback from schools already using Bromcom highlights the support provided during the transition. Simon McLean, principal of Nettlefield Primary School, said the phased approach helped staff adapt. He said the "T-minus journey" allowed staff to work through the change step by step, kept everyone informed of weekly progress, and built confidence around the transition and training.

Jim Matthews from St Comgall's Primary School also praised the training resources. He said the online training through the new eFront environment was an excellent resource and allowed staff to revisit content when needed.

Training and onboarding support for schools is continuing throughout the rollout. The Education Authority has released a video update featuring Donna Craig, the SMS Product Area Lead, to outline progress and timelines for the remaining rollout across all sectors.
