Coleraine is hosting a family event centred on brick building and exploration this October. The Great Coleraine Build, organised by Coleraine Connect with support from Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council, includes hands-on Bricks4Kidz sessions, a free town centre trail of brick-built fairytale displays, and a competition for a family trip to LEGOLAND.

From Thursday 1 October, 13 large brick-built fairytale displays will appear in businesses across the town centre. The displays form the free Bricks Fairytales Trail. Families can collect a trail map and find all 13 displays. A letter is hidden at each stop. Collecting all 13 letters allows participants to uncover a mystery two-word phrase and enter a competition.

The competition prize, provided by JF Travel and Coleraine Connect, is a LEGOLAND getaway for a family of four with children under 12. It includes flights, two nights at the LEGOLAND Hotel, and LEGOLAND passes.

On Saturday 3 October, Bricks4Kidz will run building sessions at different times. A dedicated session for children with additional needs begins at 10am and is limited to 30 children. Family Build sessions follow at 11.15am and 12.30pm. A LEGO Technic Masterclass for children aged seven and over starts at 2.30pm. Ticket prices are subsidised by Coleraine Connect, and advance booking is encouraged.

The trail maps will be available to download from the Coleraine Connect website from 1 October or can be collected from the participating businesses.
