Residents in Mid and East Antrim can now access bin collection information and report missed collections through a new online dashboard launched by the borough council.

The service provides real-time updates on household waste collection, including any changes to schedules, and allows users to report a bin that has not been collected.

Mayor Alderman Thomas Gordon said the dashboard was designed with residents in mind and supports the council's sustainability targets. He said it offers a convenient platform to stay informed and report missed collections.

The streamlined dashboard focuses on the two most common waste service needs: checking collection information and reporting a missed bin. Other waste-related requests, such as bulkier collections, Eco Rangers pick-ups, ordering replacement bins, and reporting missed trade waste collections, will continue to be handled through the council's wider online service.

The launch follows plans announced earlier this year for a major upgrade of the refuse collection fleet, with 32 new vehicles to be introduced, including 16-tonne vehicles for rural routes and larger 26-tonne vehicles for urban areas across Ballymena, Carrickfergus and Larne.

Gordon added that keeping the area clean in an efficient and sustainable way is a top priority, and the council is investing in both online and physical facilities to enhance people's lives.
