Bin collection days will change for some households in the Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council area from the week commencing Monday 26 October 2026.

The council is introducing a borough-wide route optimisation programme to improve efficiency and reliability. Residents will be informed by post between 5 and 15 October, with leaflets detailing new collection schedules and a six-month calendar.

Lord Mayor Mary O'Dowd encouraged residents to check their new collection day and present bins by 7am on the correct day. Black, green and brown bins will continue to be collected fortnightly, but the collection day may change.

During the transition, some households may experience a longer gap between collections. Residents with surplus waste can use their nearest Household Recycling Centre.

The council reminded residents to place only correct materials in recycling bins to avoid contamination. Incorrect items may result in a bin not being emptied.
