A 25-year-old man from Derry has been fined £350 after admitting to possession of class B and class C drugs. Michael Dunlop, who has no fixed abode, appeared before District Judge Suzanne Rice.

The court heard that police found the drugs on Dunlop at 5am on September 1. Details of the specific drugs and the exact location were not disclosed in court.

Dunlop's defence solicitor said the drugs were for personal use and that his client had an addictive personality.

District Judge Rice told Dunlop that he was risking his life with drugs. She imposed a total fine of £350 for the offences.
