A Moneymore man has pleaded not guilty to charges of assault and attempted criminal damage in Cookstown.

Corey Devlin, aged 21, of Rockview Park, Moneymore, faces three charges relating to alleged incidents in the James Street area on June 28.

The charges include assaulting a male causing actual bodily harm, assaulting a female, and attempting to damage or destroy a door belonging to Ma Quinns Bar on James Street.

When the charges were put to him by the court clerk, Devlin replied not guilty.

District Judge Francis Rafferty released Devlin on personal bail of £250. Conditions attached include no direct or indirect contact with the injured parties, no consumption of alcohol in any public place, and a prohibition on going within 100 yards of Ma Quinns Bar.

The case was adjourned to September 4 for a contest date to be fixed.
