Two police officers received hospital treatment after their vehicle was rammed by a car in Dunmurry late on Tuesday night. The incident occurred shortly before midnight on 25 August, when officers on mobile patrol on the Glen Road observed a silver Nissan Juke travelling at high speed.

The officers followed the vehicle and waited for a safe location before signalling for it to stop, after the car pulled into a laneway along the Ballycolin Road. The driver then attempted to force the car back onto the road, ramming the parked police vehicle multiple times. The two officers inside were injured in the collision.

The PSNI confirmed both officers attended hospital on Wednesday 26 August for treatment to their injuries. A 39-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of attempted grievous bodily harm with intent, dangerous driving, driving when unfit through drink or drugs, and possession of a Class A controlled drug. A 44-year-old man was also arrested on suspicion of possession of a Class A controlled drug. Both men remained in police custody.
