Relatives of a man who died in a road traffic collision have collected more than £33,000 for Air Ambulance Northern Ireland by taking part in the 2025 Belfast City Marathon.

Eilish Lavelle, a mother of five, raised £6,384.83 after her husband Daniel died in a 2024 road accident. She presented the cheque to local Air Ambulance volunteer Hazel McClelland, accompanied by her children Jacob, Michaela, Laoise, Cliodhna, and Domhnall Og.

Other members of the extended Lavelle family generated a further £27,000 under the team name Maroon 25 at the same event.

Air Ambulance Northern Ireland operates a helicopter emergency medical service across the region.
