Police are investigating two incidents of criminal damage at a residential property in the Forthriver Road area of north Belfast, treating both as racially motivated hate crimes.

The first report was made shortly before 7.40am on Sunday 16 August. Graffiti was sprayed on the house between 10pm on Saturday 15 August and 7am on Sunday, and a front door window pane was damaged.

A second report was received around 12.45am on Monday 17 August. A living room window of the property had been smashed, and a male wearing a black hooded top and riding a black bicycle was seen leaving the scene.

Inspector Hamilton said enquiries are continuing. Police asked anyone with information to use the witness appeal form quoting reference 423 16/08/26, call 101, or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
