MLA calls for urgent replacement of missing bollards on Derry road
SDLP MLA Mark Durkan has asked the Department for Infrastructure to replace missing bollards at a traffic island on Springtown Road in Derry.
He said the absence of bollards at the island, which leads onto a rural stretch, could pose a serious risk to motorists, especially as evenings get darker.
Durkan said he had asked the department to carry out the replacement as a matter of urgency and urged drivers to take care on that route in the meantime.
He also said he had requested wider replacement signage across the Hatmore and Hazelbank areas, including missing directional signs and street name plates.
He added that he had contacted the department to request resurfacing of the wider area and encouraged anyone who encounters similar issues to contact his office.
