Two people have pleaded guilty to the theft of a young pygmy goat from Tannaghmore Animal Farm in Craigavon.

Sally Ann Finnegan, 20, and Willy McDonagh, 20, both of Enniskeen, Craigavon, appeared at Craigavon Magistrates Court on Friday. They admitted taking the goat, described as being of unknown value, on 15 June this year.

Police said at the time that the goat was three weeks old, had been stolen from the farm, and was later recovered and reunited with its mother. Two suspects were identified, arrested and charged.

Defence counsel Conor Lunny told the court that both defendants have criminal records. District Judge Austin Kennedy confirmed that the goat had been recovered and adjourned the case to 25 September for pre-sentence reports. The pair were released on continuing bail.
