A fundraising appeal has been launched for an 18-year-old from Randalstown who was seriously injured in a two-vehicle collision in County Donegal. Lucy Robb was a passenger in a car with her boyfriend Ronan King, from Lurgan, when the collision occurred on the R232 Fincashel near Pettigo on 2 August.

Mr King, aged 24, died from his injuries. His funeral was held later that week. Ms Robb was taken to the Mater Hospital in Dublin, where she remains in the intensive care unit.

Ms Robb had been due to receive her A-level results on 13 August and had planned to study occupational therapy at Ulster University's campus in Derry. Her aunt, Anne-Marie Murphy, said those plans have been put on hold because of the extent of her injuries.

Ms Murphy set up a GoFundMe page to support Ms Robb's parents, Terry and Caroline, who also have two other children at home. The family is facing financial and emotional pressure while Ms Robb is treated in Dublin.

The fundraising page states that Ms Robb's recovery will involve a long period of rehabilitation and major adjustments to the family home. A week after the collision, Ms Murphy said her niece remains seriously ill in intensive care.

The appeal asks for donations to help the family with immediate costs and to support Ms Robb's future care needs.
