A 25-year-old man has admitted possessing Class C drugs after diazepam tablets were discovered in his luggage at Belfast International Airport.

Lee McKee, of Alexandra Terrace in Crumlin, entered a guilty plea to a single charge of possessing the drug without a prescription. The plea was recorded at Antrim Magistrates’ Court, sitting in Ballymena, on Tuesday.

McKee was not present for the hearing. Details of when the discovery was made have not been disclosed, but it is understood the tablets were found in a suitcase during routine airport screening.
