North Belfast man jailed for attempted rape and sexual assault
A 44-year-old man has been sentenced at Laganside Crown Court for attempted rape and causing a person to engage in sexual activity without consent.
Jordan Frampton, from the north Belfast area, was handed a two-year custodial sentence on Wednesday, 1st July. He will also be subject to a five-year restraining order against the victim and must spend an additional 12 months on licence following his release.
Detective Chief Inspector Finlay of the Police Service of Northern Ireland's Public Protection Branch commended the victim for her courage in coming forward and working with the investigation. He stressed the difficulty victims face in reporting such crimes and urged anyone who has experienced sexual assault to contact police.
