Summer schemes are taking place at 29 special schools in Northern Ireland during the school holidays.

The Education Authority is running the programmes, with the number of schools matching last year's provision.

Nursing support is being provided by Health and Social Care staff, tailored to the needs of the children attending.

The Education Authority is currently working with health and education partners on plans for summer schemes in 2027 and beyond.

Talks on term-time health care in special schools are also ongoing with health colleagues.
